FAA  APPROVED

new  stuff...

certified  training...

RYAN AEROSPACE, in partnership with Precision Flight Controls (PFC) of Sacramento, California, developed a Bell 206 / Bell 407 helicopter simulator and had it certified by the FAA as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) under AC 61-136A, backed by a signed FAA Letter of Acceptance. Not just built to a training standard, but tested against it and approved.

That certification is what turns a realistic simulator into one flight schools can actually build a syllabus around. Time in this device counts: up to 20 hours toward an instrument rating, 2.5 hours toward a private pilot certificate, 50 hours toward a commercial certificate, and 25 hours toward an airline transport pilot certificate.

the  technology...

An all-metal cockpit, built to last. An ergonomic all-aluminium and steel cockpit with a powder-coated finish and custom pilot and co-pilot seating, built for the daily use of a working flight school, not a showroom.

Authentic flight controls. Anti-torque pedals with hydraulic dampening, a cyclic with electronic force trim, and a collective with working throttle and switches, controls built to feel like the aircraft, not approximate it.

A genuine instrument panel and avionics package. Attitude and airspeed indicators, heading situation indicator, and the engine monitoring gauges a pilot actually scans in flight, alongside a digital avionics package built around a PFC 530W WAAS GPS, dual NAV/COMM, ADF, and transponder, running on PFC's own X-Plane Professional simulation software.

A visual and motion system that puts a pilot in the environment. A 220-degree external visual system, delivered through external 4K monitors or a projection dome with image blending, paired with PFC's ProMotion II three-axis motion cueing so a pilot feels the aircraft respond, not just sees it.

An instructor station built for training, not just playback. A 27 to 30 inch 1080p instructor display drives weather, time of day, and a worldwide airport database, with full moving map control over the scenario.

the  benefits...

  • Real FAA credit hours, not just realistic training, hours that count toward certificates and ratings
  • Lower cost, lower risk training, hours built on the ground instead of in the aircraft
  • Consistent, repeatable training outcomes, the same scenario delivered the same way, every time
  • Bell 206 and Bell 407 configurations, covering both airframes from the one training platform
